Besides, rehabilitation of torture victims, CVICT plays an important role in prevention of torture through various activities. It continues to press the government to amend the laws against torture, to visit prisons to document cases of torture and disability, fact finding missions to expose torture practices, spreading awareness on torture and its consequences to decrease the incidences; training of lawyers, doctors and social workers to properly document and investigate torture for the purpose of prevention etc.

CVICT believes that combating torture requires varied programmes to heal the wounds of torture victims while working actively to end the practice of torture in Nepal.
