Integrating Mental Health in Primary Health Care
Integrating Mental Health in Primary Health Care  in a Post-Conflict Setting, Dang- funded by Physician for Social Responsibility (PSR), Finland

CVICT is partnership with Physician for Social Responsibility (PSR), Finland has been implementing Integrating Mental Health in Primary Health Care in a Post-Conflict Setting Project in Dang district. The key objective of this three year (2012-2014) project is to improve mental wellbeing in Nepal through better detection and treatment of mental disorders and higher awareness on mental health among community people.

In order to meet its goal, project adopts the strategy to strengthen the operational capacity of health staffs, improve the functioning of psychiatric referral system at the community and increase the level of awareness on mental health through Community Mental Health Promotion (CMHP) program at different VDCs in Dang.

The project has also been focusing on providing services on Psychosocial counseling to the community people and holistic care to those who suffer from severe mental disorders in order to reduce mental health burden. It also aims to conduct School Mental Health Promotion program at different Government schools in Dang to raise awareness and generate demand of mental health services in the community.
