The main aim of this project is to address women rights, sexual harassment, policy gaps and inadequate knowledge and capacity of service providers on gender sensitivity and justice. The project provides technical support to judicial committee members and data management support which helps to enhance the performance of judicial committee as well as in better management of cases. The project works with the community as well as at the national level. Community level activities focus on the empowerment of community people including school/college girls and women’s groups, civil society organizations and service providers, whereas national level activities focus on advocacy aspects in order to influence the policy gaps on existing new laws related to sexual and gender-based violence.
This project is designed for two years. The duration of project is from January 2019 to December 2020 which is implemented in Kavre districts 4 Municipalities i.e Dhulikhel, Panauti, Panchkhal and Mandandeupur. The main aim of the project is to end/mitigate violence against women and gender-based violence, to empower community people of project areas against sexual and gender-based violence and to advocate for effective implementation of existing laws and new laws and to provide legal aid as well as awareness on community and school based.
The major activities of this project are community dialogue, awareness program regarding the gender-based violence and improving knowledge about the existing news laws, regulation and policies, GBV /VAW, training regarding case management on gender-based violence issue, legal aid to needy survivors and publishing of the training manual.
